Ok, I was thinking about how much I don't really like the factory purple and orange on my bike, and a paint job is just soo expensive, so hell, I just got bored tonight. Started with the side fairings tonight, will do the rest tomorrow. I dunno about the tank though; their under clear coat... heatgun: $20.00 (free off my work van) cleaner: $3.00 (free from the laundry room) adhesive remover: $1.97getting rid of the barney theme on my bike: [/b] PRICELESS!Notice the damged/missing piece where my turn signal mounts, any ideas for a quick fix other than duct tape from the back side.

might try that.... Thinking about blanking off the holes all together and using turn signal integrated mirrors...

These sweet mirrors come stock on the New Gixxer 1000. Is it possible to fit these on to the yzf?

I dont see the pic (says bandwidth exceeded) but are you talking about the ones with the built in blinkers?
I plan on putting the normal gixxer mirrors on my bike as mine didnt come with mirrors and i picked up a crappy rashed pair for just the mounts.
EDIT: Ah didnt like the hyperlinking, just go to the site and youll see the pic. I believe a few did it on yzf600r.com. Sometimes i think it might look sweet and sometimes it might look fugly. Im undecided for the yzf so far.

Ok guys. I'm really wanted to complete my sticker removal. I've removed everything but the tank. Here's the deal. Is it possible to take it to a body shop and have them wet sand the clear coat off, so that I can remove the decals on the tank and then just respray the clear coat or will it screw up the paint in the process? I really wanna knock this thing out. I have other projects on the bike to start on but my wife says I have to finish one at a time... (hint) Homemade undertail next! followed by tail light modification. (i'll have write-ups on both) and then I need to get around to removing the wheels, painting them (white or black?..) and polishing the lip!

No, wet sanding will not work. I tried wet sanding the decals on a spare tank monday, but the color coat under the decals is so thin it goes away before the decals are gone. I was using 800 grit paper, and I was being VERY careful. Most stock color coats are super thin these days.
