I just wanted to share that I installed a Scorpion CF muffler to my Vance-Hines 4-1 header this weekend. The old VH SS2R muffler was cracked from the previous owner and had leaks all over from the factory so I replaced it with the Scorpion unit.
I had to take it to a muffler shop to have them expand the slip-joint to fit over the VH piping but it was worth the trouble. The exhaust tone is quiter and deeper. The muffler is 3.2# lighter too. I'll post pictures soon.

I'll take some pictures of it soon. I need to get a new clamp and finalize the pipe positioning.
The sound it terrific. The buzzing of the VH is gone and the tone at idle is a deep rumble.

sounds great! (pun intended.)
You can get a cheap tool at Harbour Freight that allows you to expand pipe to fit. after spending a few years helping amateur endurance teams you fix alot of pipes (not to mention mix and match parts)
BTW a common cherry bomb muffler can be used in a pinch. DAMHIK

I think I'll pick up that pipe expander. Getting slip joint fittings perfect using one of those industrial hydraulic units is like performing surgery with an ax. Before I got the deal on the Scorpion muffler, I was going to get one of Burns Stainless' ultralight stainless race mufflers. Have you seen these things? www.burnsstainless.com/UltraliteMuffler/ultralitemuffler.htmlUnder 3# for our size.

great minds.......
In the case of the cherry bomb (no link, just look under and red####'s car) one of our support teams was letting a new member use the bike (01 R6 ) to take the training to get his race licence. in the last run of the day, appx 1 hour before the start of the 3 hour endurance race he tossed the bike in a tight fast right......
closest shop open on a saturday.... autozone!
(team got 5th in class that day....)
