Hi guys, This is a question for any who have fitted this.
I've recently rebuilt gearbox etc. and am considering getting the factory pro shift kit. anyone with personal experience with it?? is it worth it??
I've been told about AUD$140 and about 2 weeks wait, i'm already getting a new shift shaft as a missed shift managed to bend the old one.
Any input appreciated.
Thanks

many riders prefer not to use the stiff spring provided in the kit (I did use the spring) and only use the arm and bearing wheel as this will give a more precise shift while not increasing the lever effort. I have also heard that some riders have had difficulty finding neutral when using the spring provided with the kit. I installed the kit along with stiffer clutch springs (ebc) shortly after purchasing my bike at the recomendation of a friend so I had very little experience with the stock shifting. I find the shifting to be very 'positive' and while neutral isn't easy to hit (not all that hard either) I rarely get missed shifts or false neutrals. seems like a positive mod to me.

Thanks for the input. I think i'll get it, cause it's unlikely to make it worse. Hopefully less lazy miss shifts. I might try it with/without the stiffer spring and post an opinion. It will be at least a few weeks before it goes in though.

Finally bought and installed this. I also replaced my shift shaft at the same time. Definately think this is a worthwhile mod. Shift action is no heavier(i did use the spring included in the kit) but much more positve. It's much more in one gear or the other not so much time where you feel like it's still in between. Still pretty expensive for what it is though and the included replacement clutch cover gasket is weeping. so i'll have to fork out for another genuine yamaha gasket.
Thanks for the opinions.
