I rode into work today for the first time in a week and a half. My clutch hand was numb when I went to down shift on the exit ramp which was a bit surprising because I didn't even feel it getting numb!
California weather is beautiful. Check out the Rose Bowl later today and you will see!
So is anyone else commuting this early in 2006?

You guys are hardcore I'm like Punxsutawney Phil - if I wake up and see a grey cloud in the sky, the bike sleeps another day! We Californians can't drive in the rain as it is.

Good god it was windy today!
I started off driving the car but traffic was so bad, I turned around and picked up the YZF. Some gusts were 70+ MPH though I don't think I felt any above 50. A couple managed to push me from one side of the lane to the other while I was doing about 80. I was even leaning just to go straight!
Any other combat-commuting stories?

I had the same prob with 45+gusts the other night riding to class........ I couldnt believe I had to lean to stay in my lane on a straight lane......... I'm stickin away from windy riding. I'm on lunch break right now and its 50 deg. and sunny, wonder if I should even go back in.....

It's about 65° right now and really nice. The winds died down compared to yesterday and it's super clear out. Take the rest of the day off and go riding. You can tell them I said it was OK!

I had a problem with wind about a week ago. Gusts of 50mph and yes at times i was leaning right just to go straight. Only major problem is long corners with the wind gusting and stoping. Not fun.

Yeah! Gusty winds while intentionally leaning through a bend in the road took a little more brain power than I though!

Wind. One thing that makes me enjoy the extra 40lbs weight vs modern sportbikes
