Ok, so those who know and dont know, my bikes been in the shop seems like decades. A friend of a friend is working on it. He finally called me today and said, "listen." I heard him rev it up. SUCCESS!!!! Well, bummer is, he had to throw his battery in to test ride it, because mine was dead. (hopefully it will recharge..) Anyways, I asked how it ran and he said, " does good wheelies!" He told me he didnt think a yzf could bring up the front but I fooled him. Worst part is this weekend is christmas and I have no time to pcik it up till monday.... I'll have updated pics when I get her back Monday! It just sux cuz most all of my presents from my wife and family are for my bike, and I won't be able to install them till monday.

Ok, so my wife was really surprising me. It was ready friday, and last night she had my friend go pick it up and ride it to her dads house so that xmas morning when we went to her dads, bam, I would see my bike in the driveway... Angel on his way there last night, the bike broke down on the interstate. They didnt have a truck so she called another of my friends and he met lucas out there with his truck at 11:00 last night, and they didnt have ramps so they had to lift it in the truck. Needless to say she told me the surprise so I would know whats going on. Bummer...
Here's my question. What could it be? He put a complete new barnett clutch kit, disks plastes and spring, new hub, new clutch basket, everything. All I can think is someone said it could be out of sync'...? The friend that rode it home sais he was doing about 75 and it just felt like the clutch was disengaging......

Take a look at the clutch freeplay. there should be about 1 inch of movement at the end of the lever before the cable begins to pull.(the YZF seems to want alot of slack here???)
I have never used a barnett in a street application but on my offroad bikes they often needed alot of adjusting in the first several hours of use.

Well, She broke down and left me stranded on the interstate last night. I thought I could just adjust the clutch again, but once adjusted, the bike wouldnt start. Seems like a fuel prob, but it's got a full tank. Had to trailer her home for the 2nd time this weekend. Anyone on my side of town that wants to come over and do a once over look at my bike. I'm getting beyond my expertise. I'm not real good at fine tuning either.

My guess would be something electrical. Check your ignition switch Congrats man, you're just about there!

check ypur clutch cable for fraying or stretch. Nothing in there should be wearing quickly enough to need frequent adjustment. take a close look at the wire for the neutral safety switch. if one of these wires has worn thru or broken it would explain the starting issues. DAMHIK
make sure that the wire is not trapped behind the sprocket cover or kinked. it was prolly disturbed while the clutch work was going on.
when you replaced your clutch did you replace the driven(steel) plates?
if you find your way up around cincinnati oh I will be more than happy to help figure this out.

Ok, figured out my final prob withthe bike, and of course its an easy f ix. Turns out the ignition is two pieces that bolt together, and they were loose. If I pushed down on the top half of the ignition, then it started, if I let go it cut off. Apparently the 2 bolts were rusted and stripped out so 2 zip ties later I'm riding again.!!!

That was the exact reason the guy I bought my bike from let it go cheap.
Check your igintion switches, people!
